Unknown Function Number: -1 when invoking Outlook Sync Preferences

I have deployed a 7.5.3 remote user and the setup went without errors (Win 7 machine). When attempting to click on the Outlook Sync Preferences option on the client, the following message box comes up and nothing can be done for configuration: Outlook 2007 is installed on the client machine and is working with Exchange (bi-directional traffic is OK). On the user's account in Admin, I set the Mail System to be: Microsoft Outlook and gave the profile name to be the user's Exchange username (though I'm confirming if it's correct). Automatically login to e-mail is checked On. For the heck of it, I tried the profiler, but no error messages are generated there. Any guidance on this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you using Intellisync?  If so, check the user's profile in admin. Under function security, make sure you have granted them access to Intellisync.

Re: Unknown Function Number: -1 when invoking Outlook Sync Preferences

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

We have Advanced Outlook Integration enabled.  So we don't use Intellisync in conjunction with it.  I thought that the Intellisync configuration would need to be done on the client end individually.

I looked at the Function Security tab for this user, but Outlook as a node is completely missing.  I would have thought that their would be a node for each menu option on the standard client.  This is true for other users as well.

Thanks.

Is it just one user who is having issues then? All the others are fine?

Re: Unknown Function Number: -1 when invoking Outlook Sync Preferences

You might have a corrupted secfunctions table on the remote.  If you can find the entry or entries which are bad, you might be able to fix it by pushing an SQL command to the remote user using the admin tool.  See this:

Thanks!  I'll take a look at the secfunction entries.  I'm able to replicate the error locally on my my installation as well.  I'll check on this and report back in a day as I work with the user.  This makes a lot of sense - thanks!
