Are you using Intellisync? If so, check the user's profile in admin. Under function security, make sure you have granted them access to Intellisync.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.
We have Advanced Outlook Integration enabled. So we don't use Intellisync in conjunction with it. I thought that the Intellisync configuration would need to be done on the client end individually.
I looked at the Function Security tab for this user, but Outlook as a node is completely missing. I would have thought that their would be a node for each menu option on the standard client. This is true for other users as well.

Is it just one user who is having issues then? All the others are fine?

You might have a corrupted secfunctions table on the remote. If you can find the entry or entries which are bad, you might be able to fix it by pushing an SQL command to the remote user using the admin tool. See this:

Thanks! I'll take a look at the secfunction entries. I'm able to replicate the error locally on my my installation as well. I'll check on this and report back in a day as I work with the user. This makes a lot of sense - thanks!
