Edit Opportunity Contact Dialog Box

Does anyone know if the Strategy box within the Edit Opportunity Contact Dialog Box has a character limitation?  We can only enter not evey 1 line in this box.  If so, can the number of characters be changed?

64 characters... it's a standard field in Opportunity_Contact.

You can go into the SalesLogix DB manager in Admin and make it longer if you know exactly what you are doing - otherwise, there is the possibility of blowing up your SalesLogix DB.

Thanks RJ.  You would think that the Strategy dialog box is the size of entering a  paragraph or more, but only holds 64 characters that Sage would have fixed it.

  That's not the only place where the number of characters you can key in does not match the actual database ;-)

I looked at the LAN client and it is supposed to be a drop down box, not a text area.  I spoke to Sage Tech Support and they are investigating it.

 Defect - 11083337 is now scheduled for resolution in Sawgrass.

For those who do not know what "Sawgrass" is - it is (slated to be) version 8.0.

So if you want a fix in 7.5.x (now).. you will have to do it yourself.

And when is Sawgrass slated to be released?

We can't give you a firm date at present. We expect the Beta release in December, so I would expect the Gold Release within a couple of months from that, but obviously this is subject to change.
