What is the best way to deal with the Database?

Just want to get some idea, in SalesLogix web, what is the best way to deal with database like query, update, delete...

I found SData, IRepository, Nhibernate and so on.

What is the best way to use? Could you give me some reference or docs?

If you want to access to SLX through a third party program you have to use SData.

If you are in SLX you have to use the repository.
