Great Design Idea - Drag & Drop Attachments (SLX Web) and Send To capacity.

A great design idea to add convenient and consistency to Sage SalesLogix Web application. Add the ability to Drag and Drop to the attachments tab of SalesLogix Web anywhere the attachments tab is found. 

 

Why:

  • Convenience – Users find this feature to be easy, allowing users to select one or multiple files at a time and dragging them into CRM.
  • Design Philosophy - this would mimic similar design philosophy of the History' tab's drag and drop feature, therefore keeping design interface for end users consistent.

 

On a side note, it would also be interesting to have the ability to right-click a file and send it to the attachments area of SLX using Window’s Send To feature:

  • Send to -> SLX Contact
  • Send to -> SLX Account
  • Send to -> SLX Opportunity

The Send To idea is a great idea and has been requested by our users.

 

The ability to copy the attachment from the database or drag a copy out of the database into an email etc would be useful especially if you wanted to email more than one document at a time.

Since our upgrade to 7.5.3 with desktop manager, you can now drag and drop attachments. It would be nice if Sage was better at documentation and less restrictive on who they release it to.

Actually, this needs to be Configurable at runtime by an Administrator......SLX needs to get away from the Coding Centric on Premise Approach and step up to the CLOUD already....

 

 

See SalesForce's approach to adding Entities and Form's to a Main View and how they deploy it.....

 

I like the 'Send To' Approach to as well, their always was the EMail button but heck, this just simplifies it....

 

and how about Zip and Download? Zip and Send?
