And Now For Something Completely Different

by Employee on 12-23-2011 06:40 AM

Normally, I’m a good boy and post only Sage SalesLogix related blogs here (it is after all the Sage SalesLogix Journal) but I’m pretty sure I’ve ended up on Santa’s “naughty list” this year so I’m giving up all hope for the rest of 2011 and will make sure I end up on the other list next year.

So, until then, in place of something Sage SalesLogix related, here’s some random fun I’ve been having on the internet recently. I mean, just think of this as me helping you out today. If you’re like me, your brain is probably already in holiday-mode and just counting the hours (or minutes) until vacation starts. Hopefully, these links will help some of those hours (or minutes) pass by a little more quickly for you.

  • Abandoned Shopping Malls: http://deadmalls.com/features.html
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated with exploring interesting places people aren’t supposed to go. This site catalogs shopping malls, broken down by state, that are no longer with us. *tear* Check out the links with photo icons next to them. Remember shopping at any of them?

  • Abandoned Amusement Parks: http://amusementparksoftheworld.com/amusement/10-most-incredible-abandoned-theme-parks-on-earth/
Same theme. Really interesting to see places that were once designed to be fantasylands looking sad, gloomy and desolate. I started looking into this after seeing Hanna; they filmed some shots at Spreepark, an abandoned amusement park in Germany.

  • The NYC subway exits into a Brooklyn townhouse: http://kottke.org/11/12/the-nyc-subway-exits-into-a-brooklyn-townhouse
How cool is this? You’d think it’s just a townhouse in Brooklyn, but it’s actually a secret subway exit! Just like the abandoned amusement parks and shopping malls, I so want to sneak in and take a peek around!

Too bad I’m not near bold enough to sneak into any of these places and fulfill my dreams. Thank goodfness other people did and posted it on the internet. :smileyhappy:

Hope you have a safe and happy winter holiday. Until 2012!
